  • Mina Elwell wrote a story featured in the Eisner-winning anthology "Puerto Rico Strong."
  • At the 2018 Dusty Festival at the School of Visual Arts, she won the Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting award.
  • Living between several major trails and Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary, she can hike and observe nature in all seasons. She is also an annual volunteer for the DEC, assisting in frog migrations.


Mina Elwell has been a freelance writer since 2017, publishing comic book series and articles focusing on obscure history, cults and new religious movements, horror films, and folklore. After working in television for several years, she transitioned to writing comic books, including "InferNoct" for Scout Comics and "Hellicious" for Starburns Industries Press. She has been interviewed about comics, horror, and storytelling by PreviewsWorld and Monkeys Fighting Robots and on podcasts including "Horror DNA" and "The Pop Culture Experience."


Mina Elwell graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts.
